A typical day...

Lucy says: "If I lick the bowl one more time, perhaps more food will appear!"

Moose says: "I'm not budging from the door until you take me for a walk..."

Doggies Return

After a weekend at the kennel (Moose) and the luxury doggy condo (Raz and Lucy), all doggies are back at home (Eric is too). The dogs had a good time-- Moose barked himself hoarse, while Raz and Lucy soaked up attention from their admirers at the condo. But it was hard work for all concerned.

Raz: I'm so glad to be home, I've forgotten that this isn't my bed...

Moose: I'm so tired out, I don't care that Raz has stolen my bed...

Lucy: Doesn't my expression say it all?

Raz: Did I mention that we received neither food nor water at the condo???

Quick trip to Portugal

Eric took a quick jaunt to Portugal to help Daniela with some work, and also to check on the Vieira do Minho branch of the Menagerie.

They seem to be clucking along just fine.

Pictures of the newest additions to the brood will be forthcoming once Daniela's back home.

Of course, no trip to Portugal would be complete without sipping Vinho do Porto, in this case at the tasting room run by the Instituto do Vinho do Porto. Did we drink several glasses of 10-year-old Tawny? Yes. Did we watch the sun set over the Douro River and the beautiful city of Porto? Yup. Jealous yet?

Dogs off to board..

Eric is taking an unplanned trip to Portugal for a few days, so the dogs have to go off to their respective kennels. Moose was so tired when I broke the news that he barely opened his eyes, despite the flash of the camera.

Wednesday

A fairly uneventful day here at the Menagerie. Some grocery shopping for human food, some laundry, the daily walk to the park (with Moose and Lucy, Moose on strike), the occasional hysterical barking at passersby, real or imagined. And some existential questions.

#1: What is the size of one Moose sleeping?

#2: How much pugness can one couch hold?

Thoughts?

Day One

On the first full day of Daniela's absence...

Doggies are lyin' around, feelin' glum.

Raz wonders if Momma can't perhaps be found at the bottom of her food bowl....

At least our sadness hasn't caused us to lose our appetites!

Or our love of the duck...

Come home soon!
