Still on top
Raz wants Lucy to know that, despite her small size (even smaller since her intestinal difficulties, from which she's now recovering), she is still the top pug dog. Raz often goes to great lengths to dominate Lucy-- by ostentatiously sitting on top of her, by licking her ears or head, etc. Lucy generally puts up with it without complaint, though she often (as here) has a rather annoyed expression. Raz held this position for at least 15 minutes or so...

Has Raz eaten any of her breakfast yet?
Where does Moose fit into this alpha dog heirarchy? Since he's the biggest, is he at the bottom?
To answer P&MM, Raz ate a few bites but that was all.
As for Ingrid's question, the answer is, unbelievably, that Moose does seem to be at the bottom of the doggy hierarchy.
Obviously he gets a certain amount of deference because of his size-- i.e., if R and L don't get out of his way they're liable to get stepped on.
But there are times when he really acts like the low dog on the totem pole. A recent example: Moose is getting a drink of water. Raz decides she wants a drink too, so she sidles up next to him and starts drinking (the bowl is big enough for both to drink at once). Moose almost immediately stops and backs away from the bowl. Raz drinks and leaves. Moose returns to continue drinking...
