My flower garden

It's really coming along! The sunflowers, scarlet flax, and bachelor buttons (transplanted as seedlings) are really quite big now. And most of the seeds planted actually germinated (phew! glad that PhD in you know, plant ecology, was not for naught!), so there will be zinnias, cosmos, calendula, safflower. I also bought some small Silene, Mimulus ringens, black-eyed susans (which I tried to grow from seed but got only a couple of really tiny seedlings, they are in there too), and blue vervain. It's all very exciting. Flowering won't happen until late July or so for anything, but I wanted to keep a photographic record of the garden so I can see how it changed over time...

Looks great! Good idea with the photo-log, it will be cool to see all the changes. I can't wait to see the flowers!

I can't wait to see the flowers too! I will of course have pics of them as they flower...I really can't wait to see the sunflowers - I have two kinds, a dwarf Jerusalem sunflower (which is your typical yellow with brown flowerhead) and also a dark red variety- called evening sun, which will be taller. I'm hoping the city of St Paul doesn't come by and issue me a citation, cos you are only supposed to have plants 18" and under and almost all of these plants should be taller!!!

So neat. I am so impressed at how organised an orderly it looks. Mamita
